Aug. 22, 2022 — Patricia Lansing, acupuncturist, and Sarah Butte of Rose & Crown Apothecary in Historic Old Town are holding a special Points of Grace community acupuncture session to benefit Dr. Mark Immel on Sunday, Aug. 28, from noon to 3 pm at Rose & Crown Apothecary, 1297 Bay St.
Immel is a member of the grassroots generation of naturopathic physicians and herbalists who helped revitalize the natural medicine movement in the United States. His clinical practice spans 40 years. For the past 28 years, he has served the communities of the central Oregon coast.
Immel has been an integral part of health and healing in the Florence community for decades and needs life-saving surgery, which will require substantial recovery.
“Having the opportunity to learn herbalism from Dr. Mark has enhanced my life personally and professionally,” Butte said. “His knowledge and expertise influence every Rose & Crown Apothecary formula and the healing power of nature steeped in our products will continue to ripple out across communities.”
Immel’s surgery is scheduled for September and post-op recovery time is estimated to be three months. Each donation will help ease the financial stress so he can focus on healing.
“In addition to the thousands of folks Dr. Mark has helped, all the people I have treated over the last 22 years have also benefited from Dr. Mark’s expertise because he is my mentor,” Lansing said. “I have learned so much from him that it is woven into my fabric as a healer. Today, we see Sarah Butte (his stepdaughter) also carrying the torch forward as an herbalist and massage therapist. His is a legacy of healing with generational reach.”
Points of Grace is a community style ear acupuncture treatment where attendees enter a quiet room, sit on a chair, receive ear acupuncture and rest while sitting with the needles in for about 20 minutes. Masks are required and no appointment is needed. The cost is $25, cash only. All funds collected will go to Immel.
“Points of Grace is an opportunity to feel good twice: receive deep relaxation and pain relief from ear acupuncture and help Dr. Mark,” Lansing said.
Ear acupuncture protocols are used internationally and proven effective to relieve pain, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, improve overall health and enhance a sense of personal wellbeing.
